Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness month? The NCUFY Youth Coalition created a theme for 2025:

Grow Through What You Go Through.

We want to honor this month by showcasing our community’s artistic response to this theme.

In partnership with the New Castle Arts and Culture Committee and Committee for Mental Resilience, NCUFY is hosting a Community Art Collaboration and Digital Exhibition in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. We’re looking for art submissions from all New Castle community members in response to the theme created by the NCUFY Youth Coalition, which is Grow Through What You Go Through.

In the words of NCUFY Youth Coalition members:

“May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we want our art exhibition to serve as an opportunity for members of our community to express what’s important to them on the topic of mental health and resilience. We want to collect art submissions from our community to highlight how art and creativity can be powerful outlets and forms of expression. Sometimes it can feel hard or scary to share what you’re thinking or feeling with words. Art is a creative outlet where you can share things that may be hard to express in other ways. Vulnerability is a strength, and something worth celebrating. ”

We hope you’ll participate!

Exhibition guidelines:

  1. We are accepting submissions from artists of all ages and talents in the New Castle community.
  2. Create a piece of art that illustrates mental health and resilience by responding to the prompt/theme Grow Through What You Go Through.
  3. Participating artists can submit their artwork by emailing newcastleunitedforyouth@gmail.com with the subject line “Digital Art Collection Submission”
